U.K. hard rockers Jayler are a bit of a throwback, in the best possible way. The sort of high energy, uncompromising, unrelenting, and sensual rock ‘n’ roll that these guys blast out. The likes of The Darkness and, more recently on these shores, Dirty Honey and Greta Van Fleet, are obvious references, though one suspects that you have to look further back to find Jayler’s influences.
“I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old and James started on bass at a similar age, if not younger,” says guitarist Tyler Arrowsmith. “Ricky picked up the guitar when he was very young also, but he only started performing when he got to high school. Ed was a bit older when he got into music, already a teenager then. As Jayler, we started performing around 2022.”
Fans of ‘70s classic rock will find plenty to dig into here. The driving, blue riffery of Led Zeppelin, the flamboyant prog of Queen, the raw slam of The Who, the mysticism of Pink Floyd—it’s all there in waves and swells.
Jayler’s Voices Unheard debut album dropped at the end of May, having signed with Silver Lining Music at the start of the year.
“It’s not been that long actually, things fell into place right at the beginning of the year via our management team, which is the best way to go about it,” Arrowsmith says. “We’ve realized you cannot trust everyone in this industry, so good relationships and word-of-mouth recommendations are so important. It’s been a good choice and it’s been great.”
The album was recorded in September 2025 at Vada Studios in Warwickshire (U.K.), with producer George.
Looking ahead, Jayler has plenty planned for the second half of 2026.
“Next thing is the release of our debut album,” Arrowsmith says. “We’ll be busy promoting that. We have a few shows and festivals this summer. We’ll then be on the road with Sammy Hagar, and after that we’ll embark on a 36-dated European Tour with Deep Purple, which we are super excited about and are really looking forward to playing The Royal Albert Hall, one of the most iconic venues of all time.”
