62272Extreme Music, the production music arm of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, has announced a partnership with Academy Award® winner Hans Zimmer (pictured) and his longtime business partner Steve Kofsky to create a new joint venture, The Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop.

Housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Santa Monica, The Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop will focus on creating bespoke show-specific libraries and score for unscripted, reality, documentary and light drama television productions. Bleeding Fingers' goal is to harness its parent companies' unique skill sets, reputations for excellence and industry renowned production values. Bleeding Fingers is the result of a growing demand from broadcasters and program makers for a power player to enter this space.

In its proof of concept period alone Bleeding Fingers has already successfully scored over 30 shows including Boston's Finest, Duck Dynasty, Hatfield's & McCoys: White Lightening, The Men Who Built America, and has earned both ASCAP and BMI Awards for the History Channel's Mountain Men.

"We are thrilled to be entering into the custom music arena and we couldn't have wished for better, more exciting partners than Hans and Steve," said Martin Bandier, Chairman and CEO, Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

"Creating this company has been an endeavor we've considered for quite some time," said Hans Zimmer. "I'm especially looking forward to seeing the level of creativity we can harness with some of the best minds in music leading the charge in developing unprecedented original scoring for television."

"The custom scoring business is long overdue for a major shake up and we fully intend to bring it!" said Russell Emanuel, CEO, Bleeding Fingers and Extreme Music. "This is a natural evolution for us and represents major incremental growth and an exciting next chapter in our story."

Steve Kofsky, Chairman of Bleeding Fingers commented, "We have been longtime collaborators with Extreme and we are more than excited to finally become partners and launch a company that brings a quality bar previously unreachable in this arena."
