This week, we’re honoring the women who gave us life, gave us curfews, and—in many cases—gave us our questionable taste in '70s soft rock. We’ve put together a playlist that covers the full spectrum of motherhood. We’ve got the sentimental classics for when you want to make her cry (the good kind), the country tracks for when you actually did try to be good (looking at you, Merle Haggard), and the power-pop anthems for when you realized your mom was actually kind of a legend.
Love Your Mother! leans into the many versions of "mom": the hero, the headache, the voice in your head you swore you’d never become (and maybe already have). There’s warmth here, sure, but also a little rebellion, a little distance, and a lot of honesty.
