Crate Diggers Record Fair by Discogs

Discogs Hosts Free Record Fair Crate Diggers

On Saturday, Oct. 22, thousands of record collectors will descend upon Lot 613 in Los Angeles, CA to build their record collection at Discogs’ official record fair, Crate Diggers.

Crate Diggers will begin at 12 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. With over 30 vendors selling, collectors will be able to hunt for those rare gems and maybe even outfit themselves with some vinyl inspired merch. Whether digging for those elusive releases or essential tracks vendor Randy “HotHobo” Ellis has got it covered, “I’ll have super strong Boogie Funk, Sweet Soul, and House sections, but I collect and sell all types of music, so there should be something for everyone.”

During the free event local DJ’s Stacy Christine, Forced Placement, Lyndon Hill, Daniel T., Clifton and Xica Soul will be providing the musical backdrop to keep people elbow deep in the crates. There is more to it than finding an ultra-rare piece of wax, according to DJ Debo, co-founder and CEO of Funk Freaks Records, “At the end of the day it’s the thrill of the hunt and the knowledge that is collected in the excavation that keeps my curiosity going and my fingers in the crates.”

The free record fair by day gives way to a free after party featuring premier vinyl DJ’s. Zernell of Grimy! Edits kicks things off at 9 p.m., followed by Rick Wade with headliner Juan Maclean spinning until 4 a.m.

Crate Diggers is the official record fair of Discogs. With over 30 vendors and vinyl DJ’s, Discogs’ Crate Diggers series continues to aim to be an important avenue to bring together the music collecting community face-to-face to discuss their passion for all things music.
