The Darkness kicked off the North American leg of their Tour De Prance at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood on March 29. This part of the tour ends May 2 in Dallas, TX. The Darkness is made up of the Hawkins Brothers, Justin (lead vocals/guitar) and Dan (guitar/backing vocals), bassist Frankie Poullain, and their newest member Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums) son of legendary Queen drummer Roger Taylor who joined the band in 2015 and is a touring member of Queen as well.
Justin Hawkins, known for his wild stage antics, sported a piece leopard outfit similar to the one Steven Tyler wore back in the 70’s with Aerosmith. The Darkness took the stage at 10 p.m. and started with “Open Fire.” Their 17 song setlist included “Black Shuck,” “Stuck In A Rut,” “Growing On Me,” and a two-song encore of “Japanese Prisoner of Love" and “I Believe in a Thing Called Love.” The Darkness shows are nothing but pure energy and always a fun band to watch. Justin led the audience in singing the chorus to “I Believe In a Thing Called Love,” before the band started playing it.
