Composer and Vocalist Needed for Animated Series

An NJ-based artistic production company is seeking a composer and vocalist immediately for an animated series for the internet and cd/DVD. The project is an animated production consisting of 10 songs divided into 10 individual musical videos and geared towards African American children. Using their existing lyrics, the process is to have the music composed for the production first, then the animation will be informed by both music and lyrics.

The songs teach black history and for the most part, require happy, fun, catchy melodies. The production was inspired by the TV series Schoolhouse Rock and is modeled after it, so it is requested that the music have the same feel as that series, but current and relatable culturally. (Please check out some Schoolhouse Rock videos on YouTube. Some songs are more serious in nature, but the music can lighten the subject matter.)

Musicians and composers from all geographical areas will be considered. Musicians do not need to be African American, but music should be relatable to African American culture.

Please include your bio and/or credits in the "Other Details Area" located at the bottom of Page 1 in SubmitDIRECT.

Compensation: The budget is small. The rate is negotiable. Please provide us with your requirements to compose for each of the ten songs, or the entire job.

Deadline: Jan. 15, unless selected before this date and the job is closed early.
