Colony House's Chapman Signs With Concord Publishing

Concord Music Publishing announced the signing of Caleb Chapman, the lead songwriter and vocalist of indie rock band Colony House. The worldwide co-publishing agreement, effective immediately, will include all of Chapman’s future works.

Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, brothers Caleb and Will Chapman formed Colony House, a band playfully self-described as “landlocked surf rock,” with Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell. Their 2014 debut album, When I Was Younger, included single the “Silhouettes,” which became the #1 most played track on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation for four months straight. They saw continued success with their album Only the Lonely in 2017, which paid tribute to the vintage sounds of Roy Orbison and the Beach Boys and featured “You Know It,” the surf-rock hit that went viral on Tik Tok and has amassed over 100 million streams on all platforms to date. The single was also featured as the soundtrack to Samsung Mobile’s nationwide ad campaign.

“I have so much respect for Concord and the incredible work they do on behalf of their songwriters,” said Caleb Chapman. “I am passionate about telling stories with songs and connecting with people through music and it's a true gift when you find people who share in that passion and are willing to come along side you to help tell those stories. I know I am the new kid on the ‘Concord block,’ but it already feels like family here!”

In January of 2020, the band released Leave What’s Lost Behind, and managed to complete half of their 40-city headline tour before the pandemic forced them to pause along with the rest of the world. Like many touring artists, they found different ways to continue to create, producing and directing a full-length feature film, “Everybody’s Looking For Some Light,” which was an official selection at the Nashville and Knoxville Film Festivals.

Colony House’s fourth album, The Cannonballers, released in February 2023, is an apt addition to their catalog, staying true to what the band does best and expanding on what their fans have gravitated to for the past decade: hope and light in the midst of it all. Colony House kicked off their Cannonballers tour on February 11th to a sold-out audience at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and will be performing at Bonnaroo this June.

“We are so excited to bring Caleb on to the Concord roster,” said Melissa Spillman, VP A&R at Concord Music Publishing in Nashville. “His artistry and vision to grow his music is a perfect fit for our culture. Over the last ten years, Colony House has amassed a growing fanbase and an impressive catalog of hits and sync placements, and we look forward to helping Caleb continue to develop his career with us at Concord.”

Caleb and the band have had major sync placements in advertisements for Toyota, Samsung, JetBlue and T-Mobile. They have performed their songs for worldwide audiences with two appearances on both Late Night with Seth Meyers and CONAN, as well as appearances on The Today Show, VH1’s “Morning Buzz,” and MTV Live. Additionally, their music has been featured in countless TV shows. They have also been part of several festival lineups including Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits, Firefly, Wonder Bus, and Lollapalooza.
