This is the second book on the subject of new wave icons The Cars that we’ve reviewed in recent months, the first being Bill Janovitz’s Let the Stories Be Told. Both are great, though Aaron’s book focuses in on frontman Ocasek. That’s an important distinction, and it makes for a compelling read. As well as being a musician in his own right, Aaron has written books about the Ramones and has appeared in publications as respected as The Village Voice. This book “delivers an exhaustive examination of Ocasek’s life and works as a musician,” and it’s a resounding success.
