Legendary Grateful Dead guitarist/singer Bob Weir played the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, CA on Oct. 18 with Wolf Bros. Wolf Bros. are composed of legendary producer/bassist Don Was and Original Primus drummer Jay Lane who is also a member of RatDog. This show took place just two days after the first night of tour in Reno, NV. In addition to the Grateful Dead, Weir has been a member of several other bands including Furthur and RatDog. He recently played a stadium tour this past summer with Dead & Co.
Weir and Wolf Bros. played a 17-song show which broken into sets over 2 hours. Although the set was mostly Grateful Dead songs like “West L.A. Fadeaway,” “New Speedway Boogie” and “The Other One,” there were covers of the Beatles “Dear Prudence” and Little Feat’s “Easy to Slip.” Weir has had guests on each show and for this one it was none other than Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell who joined in for Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” and Tom Petty’s “Breakdown.” No matter what group you see Weir with it is always a memorable evening.
The tour ends with two nights at the Beacon Theatre in NYC Nov. 18 and 19.
