New Orleans music artist Ivan Neville has concluded an exclusive, worldwide co-publishing deal with AMR Songs, a full-service, global independent music publishing, rights management, and catalog marketing company founded by music industry veteran, Tamara Conniff, AMR CEO.
The new deal includes Neville’s new release “Touch My Soul” (Mascot Label Group/The Funk Garage), his first new solo album in 20 years which is being released on April 21. The 10-song collection is a love letter to the Crescent City and celebration of his emotional and spiritual journey. The album features an amazing roster of guest artists including his father Aaron Neville and uncle Cyril Neville, Bonnie Raitt, Trombone Shorty and Michael McDonald, as well as Preservation Hall Jazz bandleaders Ben Jaffe and Charlie Gabriel, and Revivalist lead singer David Shaw. Neville’s previous solo releases also include the critically acclaimed albums "If My Ancestors Could See Me Now" (Iguana/SPV), "Thanks" (SPV), “Saturday Morning Music"(Uptones Music Productions/Uptop Entertainment), and "Scrape" (Compendia Music Group).
“When my old friend Jonathan McHugh moved back to New Orleans and told me about what he and Tamara were going to do with AMR Songs, it felt like a no-brainer to partner with them so we can get my music introduced to new audiences through their strength in films, TV, and advertising. When I played him some of my album demos, he introduced me to Tamara. I am so excited to work with them,” said Neville.
“I haven’t written music for myself in a long time, so this project is very special to me. When I think about the way music has touched my soul and all the songs that became special moments in my life, I become very emotional. Music should touch your soul. I hope this record touches someone’s soul.”
The news of AMR Songs signing Neville comes on the heels of the company’s acquisitions of the catalog of John Sebastian and the Lovin’ Spoonful, the catalog of Grammy-winning international reggae band SOJA, as well as select interests in music publishing, producer and artist royalties from hundreds of celebrated songs across multiple genres, including works recorded by Brantley Gilbert, Boston, Carly Simon, Celine Dion, Charlie Daniels, Eminem, Enrique Iglesias, James Arthur, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes, Kane Brown, Leona Lewis, Lil Wayne, Linda Ronstadt, Little River Band, Luke Combs, Pitbull, Pure Prairie League, Samantha Mumba, Westlife, and Yandel, and more.
