Eclipse Records has long been known for championing bold voices in rock and metal, and the label has recently announced the signing of Glasgow Kiss, a female-fronted alternative metal band with a commanding power-rock edge.
A statement from the company discloses that “Eclipse Records is extremely thrilled to announce the signing of GLASGOW KISS to a worldwide exclusive deal.” Their new full-length album, Down In Flames, will be released on December 12, 2025. Produced by the band and mixed/mastered by Peter Michelsen (Rat City, Madelene, Byting) at The Norwegian Sound studio, the record promises to showcase the band’s balance of heaviness and emotional depth.

The members of Glasgow Kiss each expressed their excitement about the partnership. Drummer Frode Andreassen remarked, “Joining Eclipse Records means joining a legacy of powerful rock and metal music. We’re honored and ready to deliver!” Guitarist Daniel Anker-Goli added, “As soon as we were contacted by Eclipse Records, we were excited by the idea of working with them. We are quite happy to sign with them and look forward to releasing our new album.”
Lead vocalist Charlotte Marlen Midtun emphasized the energy the band is bringing into this new chapter: “We’re beyond stoked to join the Eclipse Records family… it’s time to turn things up to eleven!” Guitarist Sveinung Sveen followed with, “New label. New energy. Same rock spirit. Thanks to Eclipse Records for believing in us!” Bassist John Erik Soltvedt also noted, “We are delighted to sign a record-deal with Eclipse Records and we are really looking forward to working with them. Hopefully this will be the start of a long and good relationship.”
According to the company, Down In Flames is “a burst of sweet dichotomy, altered reflections, foils, doppelgangers, and visions of the self through enchanting and fractured perspectives.” The album’s lyrics deal with themes of “loneliness, toxicity, grief and loss, desire and darkness,” all contrasted by bold, groove-driven guitars that push the songs into soaring territory.
Midtun’s vocal performance is central to the band’s sound, weaving from delicate passages to powerful belts with remarkable tonal range. Paired with the group’s dynamic musicianship, the record presents what Eclipse Records describes as “a beautiful, delicate balance” of heaviness and vulnerability.
With cover art designed by Andreassen and Sveen, Down In Flames is set to mark a new era for Glasgow Kiss. For the band, this partnership with Eclipse Records is not only a release, it’s the start of a larger journey.
