Album Review: All This Time by Heather Ann Lomax

She's been described as a cross between Joan Baez, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt. Boy, how could anyone follow in those footsteps?! Yet, Lomax humbly references those elements and makes them her own. This beautiful album is pleasantly paced, from moderate rockers to traditional countrified rave-ups and ballads. Early Sun Sessions Elvis Presley is referenced in "All This Time." There is an authenticity and urgency that states "I am here and I am for real." "Prison Cell" is slightly understated and groovy. "Crumbs" recalls the plaintive ambience of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game." Eleven tunes in all, this one's a winner!
