Vance Signs with Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records

Gingerbread Man Records, the new label from multi-platinum Atlantic recording artist Ed Sheeran, has announced the signing of Foy Vance, which comes after debut signing Jamie Lawson’s self-titled album went to No. 1 on the U.K. album charts, upon its release last month.

Vance and Sheeran—who are long-term friends—have frequently toured together and collaborated on their most recent albums; Sheeran sings on Vance’s single “Guiding Light” from his 2013 album Joy Of Nothing, while Vance co-wrote “Tenerife Sea” and “Afire Love” from Sheeran’s 2014 multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated sophomore album x, and wrote “Make It Rain,” the Sheeran-performed series closer to FX’s hit drama Sons of Anarchy.

Ed Sheeran said of the signing: “I am very happy to reveal Foy Vance as my second signing to Gingerbread Man Records. Foy’s always been an artist I’ve admired since meeting him in 2006. We've become touring buddies over the past few years and he's actually out in Australia with me at the moment on the final leg of my x tour. His vocals are going to blow you away and I can't wait for you all to hear the record."

To celebrate this announcement, Foy has released an acoustic version of the beautiful, “She Burns,” recorded live from the legendary Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. In addition, Vance is at work finishing up his Gingerbread/Elektra debut, slated for a Spring 2016 release.

"I feel a deep sense of peace signing to an artist led label, not least of all because the artist in question is our Ed,” says Vance. “Every time I've turned around in the last few years he has had my back."

Originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland, but now living in the Scottish Highlands, Vance won the won the inaugural Northern Ireland Music Prize in 2013 for his critically acclaimed second album Joy Of Nothing. Earlier this year he co-wrote and provided the vocals on Rudimental’s hit single “Never Let You Go.”

Vance is currently on tour in Australia and New Zealand, where he is supporting Sheeran on his latest stadium tour, followed by serving as support for Sir Elton John on his arena tour.
