Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit Announces Panels: Inventors' Roundtable, Gary Numan

17858_LINEUP_600The inaugural Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit, happening Oct. 25-27 throughout downtown Asheville, NC, has announced its finalized lineup. AC Entertainment has also released more of what they have in store for attendees via two discussions taking place at the Diana Wortham Theatre on Saturday, October 26th - the Inventors' Roundtable and an Artist Spotlight: An Interview with Gary Numan. A detailed description of both is below. Access will be limited to Mountain Oasis pass and ticket holders only; there is no additional charge to attend.

The festival's schedule and a slew of other activities, including workshops, art installations and more, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sat., Oct. 26, 12:30-2:00pm - INVENTORS' ROUNDTABLE
Some of the most forward-thinking minds in the industry come together to discuss their projects, past and present, and the mark they've made on the burgeoning and ever-evolving world of electronic music. Moderated by Matthew Sherwood of Make Noise and Sherwood's Music (builder of custom amplifiers), the Inventors' Roundtable will feature participants including Paul Vo (inventor of the Moog Guitar and Vo-96 acoustic synthesizer, http://paulvomusic.com/), Richard Devine (electronic musician and sound designer, http://www.richard-devine.com/), Tony Rolando (founder of Make Noise, http://www.makenoisemusic.com/) and August Worley (inventor of the Pyradym, http://www.augustara.com/).

Sat., Oct. 26, 4:00-5:00pm - ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: AN INTERVIEW WITH GARY NUMAN
From his early days with Tubeway Army to his upcoming album, Splinter, the panel will cover Gary Numan's expansive career, his influences, and what we can expect from the pioneer in the future. The interview will be conducted by Geary Yelton of Electronic Musician Magazine.

Woven around the twin threads of contemporary electronic music and the creative use of technology - old and new - Mountain Oasis features world-class musical performances by many of the greatest artists in contemporary music, along with talks, seminars, and panels by artists and others; interactive experiences for audiences; art installations and exhibitions and more. The events all take place indoors, within easy walking distance of one another, in the heart of downtown Asheville. The mountain oasis that is Asheville provides extraordinary inspiration as a stunningly beautiful and unique setting for the festival. Both its rich cultural history and its current innovative vitality are inseparable from the Mountain Oasis experience.
