Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA

Last year marked the 10th anniversary of Vampire Weekend’s groundbreaking debut album. Since then, the band won a Grammy and has had three #1 albums. In today’s age of music, many new bands come and go but Vampire Weekend continues to release hit singles and increase in popularity. On Oct. 2, Vampire Weekend not only sold out the Hollywood Bowl but also played a staggering 30 songs and included HAIM as a surprise guest. Of Vampire Weekend’s original lineup, Ezra Koenig (lead vocals/guitar), Chris Baio (bass), and Chris Tomson (drums) remain in the group.

Half-way through the show, HAIM joined in for “This Life,” and Danielle stayed for “Hold You Now,” from Vampire Weekend’s new album Father of the Bride. Danielle joined once again before the last song of the set before the encore “Jerusalem, New York, Berlin.” This is the last song off their latest album. The encore consisted of seven songs, which included Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town,” two fan request songs, with the final song being “Walcott.”

Before returning to the US in June 2020, Vampire Weekend will be playing Mexico, UK, and Australia. There are just three US shows left this year between Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO.
