The Best Gig I Ever Saw: Yot Club Digs Ghost-Note

Ryan Kaiser, the brainchild behind multi-platinum indie-pop project Yot Club, told us about his Ghost-Note experience...

Ryan Kaiser: The best show I ever went to was on January 29, 2015 in Jackson Mississippi. The show was for Snarky Puppy but my favorite part was the opener, Ghost-Note.

My drummer friend was into them and made sure we got there early to see them. The whole thing is on YouTube if you look up “Ghost-Note: Live from Duling Hall”. I go back and watch it every year. They had a guy with a xylosynth which is a synth version of a xylophone.

The whole show is mostly percussion until Cory Henry comes out 27 minutes in and starts playing this goofy micro-tonal Moog synth that makes me laugh every time I hear it. I don’t know why but I love it. I need more drummer friends because they’re really the only way to find out about these types of shows.

Yot Club's Simpleton album is out now...
