Electronic pop artist Ani Glass (formerly of the Pipettes) told us about her Macca experience...
Ani Glass: I’d probably have to say Paul McCartney playing at the Albert Dock in Liverpool back in 2003. I went by myself as a young teenager and spent the day wandering around all the old Beatles haunts. I ended up making friends with a group of boys from Scotland who were also on their way to the show.
I’d been obsessed with The Beatles for years, and of course my tiny mind was blown away by the music—hearing those incredible songs sung in the best city in the world by my absolute favourite songwriter. But it was also a huge turning point for me, because it was the moment I actively decided that music would guide the choices I made from then on.
Ani Glass' Phantasmagoria is out now.
