TASCAM, a trusted name in professional audio for decades, has long been the go-to choice for musicians, engineers, and broadcasters seeking reliability and high-quality sound. Now, the company is enhancing its popular Model Series mixers with a practical update aimed at improving workflow and monitoring precision.
TASCAM has announced the latest version of its Model Mixer Settings Panel application and firmware for the Model 12, Model 16, and Model 24 recording mixers. The key feature is a new virtual meter bridge display that appears directly on a user’s PC screen—available now as a free download.
A statement from the company discloses that the Model Mixer Settings Panel V2.20 “introduces the addition of a METERS tab to the existing software that was originally made popular with the release of the Model 2400 and the Studio Bridge.” With this update, Model Series users gain a much-requested tool for monitoring channels visually as well as by ear, offering an environment that better supports creativity and precision.
The update provides flexible metering options through its Meter Select function, allowing users to view CHANNEL INPUT, LIVE INPUT, PC RETURN, or MTR RETURN levels. A statement from TASCAM highlights that this “results in a wide array of metering options that users can take advantage of—no matter how they are using their Model Series mixer.”
Another highlight of V2.20 is the PEAK HOLD feature. Users can choose how long channel peaks are displayed—selecting from OFF, 1 SEC, 3 SEC, or INFINITE—while a CLEAR button allows them to reset the meters as needed.
Sean Daily, TASCAM Product Specialist, commented, “Following the release of this feature on the Model 2400 and Studio Bridge, we saw strong demand from users of our other Model Series mixers. Having access to a virtual meter bridge is an essential tool for staying aware of recording levels, which ultimately leads to a well-balanced and professional production.”
The updated software is available for immediate download at no cost. For more information, visit TASCAM’s website.
