SNG Music, LLP has added one of Nashville's successful songwriters, Marty Dodson, to its growing roster of hit-writing professionals.
Dodson will continue SNG's mission "to create great Country music to entertain the world." Six of his songs have peaked at No. 1. To date, more than 100 Dodson compositions have been recorded by many big stars in and beyond the Country genre, including Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Joe Cocker, Kenny Chesney, Leon Russell, the Plain White T's and many other headliners.
Dodson adds that one of his proudest accomplishments so far. His song “Bounce” knocked Psy out of the No. 1 spot on the K-Pop chart in Korea and won Asian Song of the Year honors.
"We are very proud to welcome Marty Dodson to our SNG family of writers," says SNG Music partner Steve Leslie. "I've known him both as a friend and co-writer for 20 years. He represents all the qualities [that] make SNG Music unique among music publishers. He's a great writer, a mentor to our younger songwriters and a smart businessman. We feel lucky to have him."
Leslie joined with Gary Reamey to launch SNG Music in 2014. With Leslie's ongoing track record as a songwriter, performer and educator, and Reamey's history as a songwriter and successful financial industry executive, the partners have the experience and the resources to meet their stated goal of working in partnership with artists, songwriters, record labels, producers, managers and other industry professionals to create and distribute country music.
In addition to Dodson, SNG's staff of writers include John Lennon songwriting contest winner Marianne Allison, Texas artist-songwriter Abbey Cone, Leslie and Reamey. SNG is also proud to have celebrated veteran Bobby Fischer, whose songs have been recorded by Reba, Charley Pride, Conway Twitty, Tanya Tucker and more, as its honorary songwriter emeritus and mentor. New signings to SNG Music will be announced shortly.
Based in Nashville, TN, SNG Music's primary goal is to build the next generation of great Country songwriters by mentoring their songwriters and fostering a creative and collaborative environment.
