Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Hungry for Music to Host Instrument Drive and Special Concert

Donations Entered to Win a New Fender Telecaster

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Hungry for Music - an organization dedicated to bringing musical instruments to kids who want to play - is hosting a musical instrument drive June 8-17 at the Rock Hall.

Anyone donating an instrument can enter to win a new Fender Squier Standard Telecaster, courtesy of GuitarsArt and Sweetwater. Instruments can be donated at bag check, located on the lower level of the Rock Hall. Multiple instruments get additional entries.

Continuing the Rock Hall’s mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll, the instruments collected will be repaired and distributed to community organizations across the country. Past Cleveland recipients include: the Music Settlement, the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland, The Intergenerational School, The Salvation Army, The Cleveland Metropolitan School District and others.

A free concert on the PNC Stage on the Rock Hall’s Plaza featuring past recipients of the instruments will shine a spotlight on the drive on June 15 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Groups performing include: The Boys & Girls Club (Cleveland, OH), Franklin Preparatory Academy Steel Drum Corp (Columbus, OH), Rock to the Future (Philadelphia, PA), and River City Drum Corps (Louisville, KY).

Hungry for Music has distributed more than 11,000 instruments in 49 states. To learn more about Hungry for Music visit their website hungryformusic.org.
