Queens of the Stone Age at The Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY

This past week, Queens of the Stone Age took the stage for the first time in almost two years, with an intimate club performance at The Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY. Having just announced their upcoming album Villains, to be released on August 25th via Matador Records, this show presented fans in attendance an opportunity to see several new tracks performed live for the first time.

The show began with “The Feel Good Hit of the Summer” before going straight into the smash hit “No One Knows.” The sold-out theater was captivated quickly as Josh Homme and company tore through a long overdue set of hits before the first new track “The Way You Used to Do” and later also premiered “The Evil Has Landed” before closing out the first set with “Go With the Flow.” The band returned for an encore consisting of “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” and “A Song for the Dead” to finish off the evening.

It was clear that the Queens hiatus since their last tour has served them well, as they came ready to play tonight. Their fans have also not forgotten how much they’ve enjoyed this band. This will be one tour not to miss this fall, when they kick off in early September. You can also catch Queens of the Stone Age in San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival on August 12th.
