Once again another Power House extravaganza took place on May 12 at the Glen Helen Pavilion in San Bernardino, CA. Power House 2018 was not only just a concert with current key players in the rap game today. But it also introduced new and upcoming artist striving to get their foot in the door, and become "next big thing".
The pavilion opened its doors to early bird fans who got see new artist making buzz in the hip-hop world today. Artist like south central's charismatic new rap king G Perico, with south LA's anthem "South central" was a crowd favorite. As well new up and coming Peruvian r&b singer, songwriter and producer A.chal with his new hit song "Love n Hennessey remix" ft. 2chainz.
In addition, Unotheactivist graced the stage with his hit track "Smoke pt 2." Saweetie, Cozz, 24hrs and Mozzy all brought different sounds to the stage and each had a unique sound pleasing to the true hip-hop head.
At 3 p.m. doors officially opened to restless crowd goers eager to see their favorite artist perform live. Anaheim very own Phora was the first act to grace the stage with the hit "Yours Truly," Phoras one to look out for and very talented.
Karol G Columbian reggaeton singer was on stage her voice and high energy was very melodic made everyone dance on their feet to Micamasuena. Super duper Kyle jumped on stage next very high energy resembled rapper Will Smith with his party style music. Singer Tinashe came up next with a couple of her back up dancer taking over the stage her number jam No Drama ft. Offset had the crowd yearning for more of her music. New York reggaeton singer De la ghetto and originally part of the duo Archangel came through with full force with "F.L.Y feat. Fetty Wap."
As the sun went down the night just got better and better. Rapper/comedian Lil Dicky casually walked on stage telling jokes and flowed to couple of his songs from the album Professional Rapper. But "Freaky Friday" ft. Chris Brown radio hit song is what sealed the deal.
NY's Asap Ferg was hard to keep up with, his energy was just off the wall "Plain Jane" left the crowd restless. Strange music artist Tech N9ne new album Planet was a hit with full energy and stomping shook the stage with its loud base.
Everyones favorite hype man Lil Jon was up next seemed like everyone knew the words to his famous hooks. He also brought out two legendary Bay area artist E-40 and Too Short.
R&B singer and songwriter Miguel number one hit song "Sky Walker" ft. Travis Scott had females screaming and yearning for Miguel's smooth voice. Rapper Yo Gotti hopped on stage bringing that Memphis sound to Cali with "Down in the DM".
Long anticipated N.E.R.D hasn't performed on stage for quite some time but Saturday they proved that they still got the moves with hits like "Lemon" and "She wants to move".
One of the artist that everyone paid tickets to see was Logic. Logic aka Bobby Tarantino was a real crowd pleaser, and humble guy at one point consoled a 13 year old boy crying because he got to meet his favorite artist. He introduced his new song "Everyday" from Bobby Tarantino 2. Albums definitely one to look out for.
Finally the man of the hour Los Angeles born and bred Nipsey Hussle one of the hardest working man in the game. His debut album "Victory lap" hit the charts with songs like "Hussle & Motivate" and "Last time that I Checc'd" played both hits on stage had every taking out their camera phones and recording every minute of it. Nipsey shut the house down Powerhouse chose the right artist to end the night with. Next years Power house will be even bigger and better.
