On September 5th, Phantogram took what seemed to be an organized stab at breaking the sound barrier at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. Their set demonstrated the duo’s gradual and organic progression since their early ’09 album Eyelid Movies. If you’ve ever seen Phatogram live before, you understand the explosiveness the duo delivers both in their sound and in their stage presence.

Sarah, in white pants and a tiny white top served as the focal point for the audience. Through a mesmerizing sequence of claps, spins and jumps there was nothing subtle about her take to the stage. Alongside Josh, who fueled his partner with sounds from their smash hits like “Black Out Days,” “Mouthful of Diamonds,” “Don’t Move,” and “Fall in Love,” Sarah aggressively seduced the entire audience with her soothing yet precise lyrical flow.
