Hard rockers Black Pearl have been on the scene since 2008, and they’ve enjoyed some good times while also suffering through the loss of their lead singer Phil Naro. His son, James Naro, is now the vocalist in the band, which is the sort of story which makes you want to root for them right from the off. That goodwill can only go so far, though. Thankfully, recent song “Sometime Around Midnight” is a great track. The production and musicianship are absolutely on point, James’ voice emotes, and the song just builds and builds. Their older songs are worth a listen too. Fans of Journey, Foreigner and the like will lap this up.
