The makers of the WA-47 and WA-87 R2—two microphones already considered studio staples—are widening their reach with a fresh lineup aimed at making professional sound more accessible.
A statement from the company reveals that the new releases come in “two new formats: the feature-rich Jr Series and the streamlined Jr Studio Essential Series.” Both options are designed around “the same professional capsules as their flagship studio counterparts, at prices that bring iconic studio sound to a wider creative audience.”
The move builds on the success of their WA-47jr, which quickly became a go-to for musicians and producers who wanted a taste of the WA-47’s classic tone without the cost barrier. Now, with the Jr Series and Jr Studio Essential Series, that same approach has been expanded to cover more styles and setups.
By keeping the tonal character of their flagship microphones while simplifying features, the company is betting that these new lines will appeal not just to professional studios, but also to independent creators, project studios, and anyone serious about capturing great sound.
In the company’s own words, the aim is to bring “legendary tones” into formats that meet today’s broader creative landscape—where high-quality audio is expected everywhere from the stage to the home studio.
