The Beatles
Abbey Road (Apple Records)
Solo rocker John Corabi (formerly of The Scream, Mötley Crüe, and Union) told us about his love for a Beatles classic...

John Corabi: I have so many albums that I absolutely love, but I think the one album I could listen to repeatedly and never get tired of would have to be The Beatles' Abbey Road.
It came out when I was 10-11 years old, and my mother gifted it to me. I sat in my room for hours on end just taking in all of the vocals, guitars, lyrics, and the emotions of a band sadly coming to an end. As I get older, and more experienced in the studio, it more than ever amazes me how they created and recorded this masterpiece. Especially the medley on side two! It’s five geniuses (if you include Sir George Martin) making their final statement in my opinion. I still get goosebumps listening to McCartney sing the bridge of “Oh Darlin’” and the chorus of “Golden Slumbers.”
And the beautifully stacked vocals of “Because” is just magnificent. It truly is a writing, playing, and recording masterclass.
John Corabi's album New Day is out in April.
