MILCK to Perform on "United in Song 2022: Ringing in the New Year"

Singer-songwriter, producer and advocate MILCK will appear in the special PBS program “UNITED IN SONG 2022: RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR” as part of a celebration of the nation's extraordinary cultural and musical diversity. The program premieres on New Year's Eve, Saturday, December 31, 8:00-9:30 p.m. ET, with an encore performance from 9:30-11:00 p.m. ET (check local listings) on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS App.

MILCK will perform two songs, including a rendition of Cass Elliot’s “Make Your Own Kind of Music” and her own song “I Belong.” MILCK’s performance was recorded in front of a live audience in Boise, Idaho at The Egyptian Theatre, a historic venue in the heart of Downtown Boise, and features background vocals of the Boise State University Meistersingers.

MILCK’s “I Belong” was originally written to honor the AAPI community in the wake of the Atlanta shootings that took six Asian women’s lives in 2021. The song has since been featured in the GRAMMY Museum's exhibit “Songs of Conscience, Sounds of Freedom” alongside H.E.R., Mickey Guyton, Ziggy Marley, Chuck D and more. “I Belong” was also featured in MTV’s special “See Us Unite for Change” to bring more tolerance and safety for the AAPI community, and MILCK performed an acoustic rendition of "I Belong" for the "Uplifting AAPI Voices: A TIME Summit."
