Maria Taylor: I can’t live without my Vanguard V13 tube condenser microphone.
I’ve spent so many years of my life writing songs and trying to remember all the ideas for guitar parts, string ideas, drum parts, piano parts etc….I would try to remember them until I went into the studio to make a record (which was sometimes years later). Often I’d forget them all ;)
Now I have this amazing mic that I keep plugged in ready to go at any moment and I get all the ideas recorded as soon as they pop into my head. The best part is that the mic is so good that oftentimes those tracks end up making it into the actual recording.
It was also a game changer during the pandemic… Azure Ray made a record and we recorded all of our vocals on this mic in our homes. AND, it comes in a great little box so it can travel with me wherever I go!
Maria Taylor's new solo album is currently in production with plans for a 2025 release.
