Lil Wayne Celebrates 'A Weezy Christmas' Charity Event

Over the weekend, music legend  Lil Wayne and Young Money Entertainment President Mack Maine gave back to their hometown of New Orleans by inviting 150 kids to celebrate “A Weezy Christmas” at Dave & Busters. As the kids enjoyed the games and took photos with Santa, Wayne & Mack partnered with Wilson Sporting Goods to provide the attendees top-of-the-line equipment across the following sports: basketball, football, baseball, soccer, and tennis. Watch Wayne’s special video message for the kids HERE.

“This Christmas Mack & I wanted to give these kids everything necessary so that they could enjoy all the benefits of being a top tier athlete. Whether it’s learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, or just using the field as a way to escape everyday stresses; we wanted to make sure these kids get to experience impactful moments” - Lil Wayne

Wayne worked with local organizations, such as Youth Empowerment Project Son of a Saint and Overtime Academy, to select kids that work hard and are training to be the best athlete and team member they can be. Youth Empowerment Project, Overtime Academy and Son of a Saint are mentorship programs that are committed to supporting and empowering today’s youth with the tools to overcome obstacles, dream big and become leaders in their communities.  Additionally, kids from the Harrell Park football program attended the event. Lil Wayne grew up playing at Harrell Park and previously donated $200K to help restore it after Hurricane Katrina.
