Label Seeks Contemporary Folk Songs for Sync Opportunities

Contemporary Indie Folk Songs with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a Record Label and Publisher that's looking for new acts to pitch to sync opportunities.

They’re looking for down-to-mid-tempo songs that are in the general stylistic wheelhouse of (but not limited to) the following references:

“White Winter Hymnal” Fleet Foxes

“Preservation” Nadia Reid

“Call It Dreaming” by Iron & Wine

“Please avoid submitting anything fast-paced, high energy, or foot-stomping.”

They need well-crafted indie-folk songs with emotionally engaging melodies, solid musicianship, and strong songwriting. Songs with an acoustic-based folk structure and production should work best. Something as simple as a guitar/vocal could work for this as long as it’s really done well!

They didn’t specify any lyric themes. Please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Use references as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The specific deal points will be negotiated on a song-by-song basis directly with the Record Label/Publisher. Please submit as many songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI Screener handpicked by the Company – No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, Aug. 26.
