Nashville-based, genre-defying artist Katie Schecter told us about her love for her 1966 Danelectro Convertible.
Katie Schecter: The things I can't live without are tied to specific memories and moments in my life.
That being said, my ultimate can't-live-without piece of gear has to be my 1966 Danelectro Convertible, which was a "push present" from my husband Nick just before I gave birth to my daughter, Only.
I named her Venus de Milo because she resembles the ancient Greek marble statue, and she isn't perfect, but she's just right. I love that I can play her without plugging in and she has a great acoustic sound, but she sounds great electric too.
Katie Schecter's new album Empress is out now.
