Now, the company is reintroducing a classic design with the release of the American Series Rhoads RR24 and RR24 HT, bringing the legendary shape into its prestigious U.S.-built lineup.
The original Rhoads design was created in 1980 through a collaboration between guitarist Randy Rhoads and company founder Grover Jackson. A statement from the company discloses that the new American Series models feature “USA-made Seymour Duncan® JB and ‘59 humbuckers pickups, a reverse 6 in-line headstock and the signature offset Rhoads alder body,” ensuring the bold, precise tones that have made Jackson a mainstay among metal players for decades.
Built at Jackson’s Corona, California factory, the American Series Rhoads is engineered with premium components. A statement from the company highlights “alder bodies with three-piece neck through construction and 12-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard with jumbo stainless steel frets,” emphasizing the attention to detail and durability behind the new instruments.
Two versions of the guitar are available. The RR24 HT comes equipped with a Hipshot hardtail bridge designed for tuning stability and ease of use, available in Satin Black and Snow White finishes. The RR24, available in Satin Black, Matte Army Drab, and Snow White, features a recessed Floyd Rose® tremolo system for players seeking a more dynamic range of performance techniques.
To introduce the models, Jackson partnered with acclaimed guitarists Brandon Ellis and Jeff Loomis. A statement from the company discloses that “the Rhoads shape continues to empower guitarists to push the boundaries of heavy music, delivering crushing tone and uncompromising performance.”
Ellis praised the new release, noting: “It’s built for metal and speed, and comes 100% tour-worthy right off of the shelf, with bulletproof American construction, high quality specs and hardware and contemporary upgrades.” Loomis added: “The American Series Rhoads is an amazing metal masterpiece!
