Multi-talented producer, DJ, vocalist, and fashion designer started dabbling with turntables when he was eight years old.
"My Dad and uncles Used to DJ in the '90s, and they had a couple thousand records, all types of music--hip-hop, freestyle, house music and a lot more. I would always hear them mixing and scratching, and one day I asked if they could teach me and they told me if I helped mow the law they would teach me. As far as producing, it was about 2014, 2015 when I cracked open Logic/Ableton and started to learn to produce. It was around the time I was starting to DJ a lot in the local Orlando scene / realizing the only DJs playing and touring were producer/DJs. Things got a little more serious when I signed my first couple records with Dirtybid and moved to L.A.
Armstrong describes his sound as "dark, bouncy, glitchy, trippy [and] original." His latest release is the "I Don't Want a Lot" track.
"One of my favorite tracks to play out at the moment," he says. "Whipped the idea up after a late night out in L.A. Me and Basura Boyz have been passing a bunch ideas back and fourth, and I sent this one to him and he got with Gene on the vocals."
As for gear, Armstrong says: "Not much gear. Just a Mac and some JBLs and Ableton 12.
Looking ahead, Armstrong has plenty planned for 2025.
"Right now, I'm on tour. I'm off to Texas next, and wrapping up a bunch of ideas in the studio."
