Guitar Center Music Foundation to Host 4th Annual Gala Honoring Music Legends and Community Heroes

The Guitar Center Music Foundation will be holding this year’s 4th Annual Gala and Benefit Concert on September 11 at the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, with Emmy- and GRAMMY-winning musician Adam Blackstone serving as the night’s musical supervisor. The night will double as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for the support of musicians and music education as well as honor several seasoned musicians. Acclaimed sound mixer John McBride will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award while the GRAMMY-winning R&B/Pop songwriting and producing duo of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will receive the Vanguard Award for their unfailing support of music education.

“Music can transform lives, and that’s why the Guitar Center Music Foundation exists - to ensure more people have access to it,” Gabe Dalporto, Guitar Center’s CEO, said in a press release. “Our annual Gala is a moment to celebrate that impact and reaffirm our shared commitment to music education and to supporting communities across the country.”

The foundation works to support musicians of all kinds, though additional support from the Gala will go to aid for the musicians impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires though providing funds and replacing gear.

“We’re proud to recognize individuals whose iconic success, impact, and contributions have shaped the music industry,” said Guitar Center Music Foundation’s Board Chair David A. Helfant in a press release. “It’s this level of accomplishment and passion that compelled our Foundation to celebrate these legends. We’re also deeply honored to recognize the firefighters who helped protect our communities during this year’s wildfires. Their bravery reminds us why our mission to heal, connect, and empower through music matters more than ever.”
