Folk Alliance Region Hosts Membership Meeting and Livestream Concert

Folk Alliance Region is proud to announce their first-ever virtual gathering “We Belong Together!” on Thursday, October 8, 2020 on Zoom and YouTube for a one-day event in two parts.

While the regular annual conference is indeed postponed due to COVID-19, the need for a gathering is not.

The event will begin at 11:30 am PDT with their Annual General Membership Meeting, where they will briefly discuss Board business and give their membership a chance to ask questions and make comments. At 12:45 pm PDT the REAL fun begins, with a two-hour FAR-West Livestream Concert Revue streaming on the FAR-West YouTube channel, featuring live performances by well-known acts from the West and beyond, as well as hot up-and-coming young artists.

Performers include Grammy winners and nominees Wendy Waldman, Laurence Juber, John McEuen and Danny O’Keefe, rising lights The Black Feathers, Raye Zaragoza and Crys Matthews, storyteller Tim Hernandez, stalwarts Joe Craven, Joel Rafael, Beth Wood and David Jacobs-Strain, plus Tom Prasada- Rao singing his social justice anthem, “$20 Bill”, and capped by Folk Alliance Region's “theme song”, a newly-written version of the classic “We Belong” performed by its co-writer Dan Navarro.

The entire event is FREE and open to the general public.
