Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros took over the Greek Theatre on Aug. 9. The Greek was the perfect venue for their folk-rock/psychedelic music style. It was twelve years ago that the group played their debut show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA. Since then, they have become one of the top groups to see at festivals.
The band has a #1 album on the U.S. indie chart with Here. They really are one big family with around ten members and a '60s vibe. It’s great to see a group like theirs carrying on the legacy of bands who played Woodstock. The set included many great songs like “Home,” “Desert Song” and “Om Nashi Me.” Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is a band you have to see live to really experience their music properly because of their old soul mentality.
