Eclipse Music Group has built a reputation for its hands-on, boutique approach to developing artists, songwriters, and catalogs. Since its founding in 2017, the Nashville-based company has expanded across six core areas of the music business, including publishing, artist development, management, and strategic partnerships.
Now, a statement from Eclipse Music Publishing discloses that “Eclipse Music Publishing, a division of Eclipse Music Group, is proud to announce the signing of songwriter and producer Lee Starr to its publishing roster.”
Originally from Texarkana, Arkansas, Starr began developing his craft in Austin, Texas, before moving to Nashville in 2014. His career gained momentum after securing his first publishing deal in 2018, leading to a string of notable successes. Among them is Elvie Shane’s Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “My Boy,” Drew Green’s Gold-certified “Good Ol’ Man,” and Conner Smith’s viral fan favorite “I Hate Alabama.”
Courtney Crist, Vice President of Publishing at Eclipse Music Group, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership. A statement from Crist reads: “I jumped at the chance to work with Lee. He is the ultimate professional and hard worker. I am beyond excited to be a part of this next chapter of his career.”
Starr himself emphasized his excitement about joining Eclipse. A statement from him notes: “I am thrilled to be a part of the Eclipse Music family. The experience and knowledge among the team here and the hunger to plant a flag in the community fire me up to keep making country music.”
In addition to his songwriting achievements, Starr has demonstrated his versatility as a producer. Most recently, he co-produced Ashland Craft’s sophomore album Dive Bar Beauty Queen, underscoring his ability to shape projects both behind the board and with the pen.
With Starr joining an already strong roster that includes Jim McCormick, Ronnie Bowman, and Payton Smith, Eclipse Music Group continues to strengthen its role as a rising force in the country music publishing landscape.
