Finally Friday, my sound seekers!
There is a very specific window of time at the tail end of May where the air starts to really shift. The winter coats are buried in the back of the closet, the grills are firing up for the first time, and the water—while still a little biting—is officially open for business.
It’s not full-blown, scorching mid-July summer yet. It’s something softer. A warm-up lap. A teaser trailer. The season hasn’t fully arrived so much as it has started texting you “I’m on my way.” It’s Summer's Soft Launch (Memoridal Day Edition).
Memorial Day weekend always carries its own weight too. It’s reflection wrapped inside the unofficial start of summer—barbecues, road trips, and the kind of playlists that lean into both nostalgia and forward motion. A little patriotic glow, a little “we made it here again."
So this week’s mix lives right in that in-between space.
