Dillon Carmichael’s Grand Ole Opry Debut

Dillon Carmichael was once a security guard at the Grand Ole Opry. On Tues., Aug. 21, the 24-year-old, Burgin, KY native made his Grand Ole Opry debut. Though he was allowed to step into the circle while working security, he never did. He purposely saved that moment for last night, and it was a night that earned him two standing ovations over the course of three songs — welcomed by an introduction to the stage from his uncle Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry.

Carmichael performed “It’s Simple,” “Country Women,” and “Dancin’ Away With My Heart,” all of which are songs from his Dave Cobb-produced debut LP ‘Hell On An Angel,’ out Oct. 26.
