Actor/musician Dennis Quaid (Great Balls of Fire!, The Rookie, The Day After Tomorrow) played a special show at the legendary Village Studios in West L.A., CA on Dec. 4. Everyone from Steely Dan to Bob Dylan to Fleetwood Mac made music history within Village Studios. Quaid with his band the Sharks' album release party kicked off with a red carpet before taking the stage. Quaid and the Sharks played songs off their new album Out of the Box, (Omnivore Recordings) and a cover of the Doors’ “L.A. Woman.” Quaid gave a high energy set in which he sang, played guitar and keyboard. Quaid even jumped off the stage and ran through the audience while playing guitar. Quaid stated “(The audiences) have a blast, which is all we want,” he said. “I make a complete and utter fool of myself. I think that’s the only way to have fun (onstage), instead of trying to pretend to be cool and all the rest of that stuff.” This is very accurate to describe the show as it is mutual. Out of the Box includes originals as well as covers of the Doors, Van Morrison, and Larry Williams.
