BMI Hosts GRAMMY Week Events - HIWTS feat Davido, D'Mile, Hit-Boy & GRAMMY Nominee Celebration

BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) hosted a special GRAMMY edition of its long-running series How I Wrote That Song® on Friday, February 2nd at The London West Hollywood and featured 2024 GRAMMY nominated BMI affiliates Davido, D’Mile and Hit-Boy. BMI’s VP, Creative, Catherine Brewton led the conversation as these hit-makers discussed the creative process behind their biggest tracks and GRAMMY nominated songs. Additional attendees included BMI affiliates 2024 GRAMMY nominated Tay Keith, artist Kaliii, rapper Big Hit and more. 

To kick off GRAMMY week, BMI invited some of the industry’s biggest talents to its Los Angeles office for an intimate gathering celebrating its family of 2024 GRAMMY nominees on Wednesday, January 31st. Attendees included Edgar Barrera, "Weird Al" Yankovic, BMI Icon Ana Bárbara, Jean and Marcus Baylor of The Baylor Project, Lupita Infante, Rob Bisel, Juan Winans and more. 

Celebrated BMI songwriters Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, accompanied by Matt Sweeney on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, performed an acoustic rendition of their Best Song Written for Visual Media hit “I’m Just Ken [From Barbie: The Album] to a packed room of their peers. In addition to its GRAMMY nomination, the song, performed by actor Ryan Gosling in the film, has received additional nominations from the Golden Globe Awards, Society of Composers & Lyricists Awards, the Academy Awards and several others. In January, “I’m Just Ken” won Best Song at the 29th Critics’ Choice Awards.
