BeachLife Festival to Hold South Bay Toy Drive

In the spirit of the holidays, The BeachLife Festival is partnering with Count On Me Foundation to host a special skating event and toy drive to benefit the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs, Friendship Foundation, and RBUSD’s Project Unified. On Dec. 1, children participating in these programs will take part in a private ice skating party with the LA Kings’ mascot and select alumni at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, the home of the LA Kings. After skating, each child will receive a new toy for the holidays in an intimate reception upstairs at the Toyota Center. Cookies and hot chocolate will be provided by King’s Cove restaurant.

A large donation of toys for the event will be provided by El Segundo based toy company Mattel Inc., however, The BeachLife Festival is encouraging the South Bay local community to get involved as well and bring an unwrapped toy to the official BeachLife dropoff location at Saint Rocke. All toys collected from now until Nov. 30 will be donated to Count On Me’s Hospital Holiday shop.

“It’s an incredible feeling to be able to create an event that will bring happiness to so many underserved children in our community,” says The BeachLife Festival co-founder Allen Sanford. “It’s important that we support the South Bay community and all of its residents, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. We are fortunate to live and work in such a vibrant community supported by many hard-working non-profits like The Boys & Girls Clubs, Friendship Foundation, and Project Unified.”

“Any time we can expose kids to the rink and the game of hockey we jump at it," says Jennifer Pope, VP, Community Relations and Team Services for the LA Kings. "Our good friends at The Beachlife Festival are doing great work in the South Bay Community and we’re proud to continue our partnership with them. The entire LA Kings organization is looking forward to a great afternoon on December 1st.”

Unwrapped toys will be collected from now until Nov. 30. All donations may be dropped off at Saint Rocke, 142 PCH, Hermosa Beach, CA.
