Avicii & Ash Pournouri Donate Two Million Meals

Avicii

Two-time Grammy nominated DJ/Producer Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, and his manager, Grammy nominated executive producer Ash Pournouri, continue their work in bringing attention to the problem of global hunger by donating the funds to provide two million school meals through the FEED Foundation in the name of their charity, House for Hunger. They will be directing the funds from Avicii’s two Grammy-week performances in L.A.: Thursday, February 7th, the opening of Vanguard in Hollywood; and Friday, February 8th, at the Conga Room.

Avicii and Pournouri created House for Hunger in 2011. The two felt that the values of generosity, love and unity that house music has always been about had been given short shrift by the media. They created House for Hunger to demonstrate the positivity of the music and its fans while addressing the issue of hunger in a very concrete way.

The donation of two million meals will be directed by the FEED Foundation to school meals programs in the most impoverished areas of Africa. This is the second initiative for House for Hunger. The first resulted in Bergling and Pournouri giving, through House for Hunger, $1 million to Feeding America.
