Anthem Signs Joey Hyde

Anthem Entertainment, one of the world’s leading music companies, has signed platinum-selling songwriter Joey Hyde to a worldwide publishing deal under its award-winning Anthem Music Publishing division. Rising to prominence in 2019, Hyde scored his first RIAA Certified Platinum single with “Made For You,” co-written with songwriters Benjy Davis and Neil Medley, and recorded by Jake Owen. The single achieved Certified Gold status in Canada and claimed the #1 spot on Country Radio and the Billboard Country Airplay Chart in both Canada and the US. The track would also see a #3 peak on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. A slew of high-profile credits followed including recordings by Walker Montgomery, Luke Dick, Sam Grow, Lindsay Ell, and Ryan Hurd, earning Hyde a 2021 MusicRow Award nomination for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year. That same year, he was listed on MusicRow’s Top 100 Songwriters of 2021.

“Joey is someone I have wanted to work with for over ten years. He is an incredible talent, such a hard worker, and always brings the fun,” stated Courtney Crist, Senior Director of Creative at Anthem Music Publishing. “We were able to celebrate a #1 together with ‘Made For You’ (Jake Owen), and we at Anthem, can’t wait to celebrate more. We are so excited to have Joey join our roster!”

“I’m so excited to start this new chapter of my career with Anthem,” stated Hyde.  “I’ve been working with Courtney for almost a decade, and I’m thrilled to get to make it official finally. The whole team is killer. Gilles dresses cool. Noah is a bro. Chandler is a cutie. Gonna be great.”

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joey Hyde grew up listening to his dad’s record collection. His early musical influences were Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, and Pink Floyd, which led to his love of the guitar. Later on, he found himself appreciating the songs of Merle Haggard and Tom Petty, which then steered him to a love of songwriting. He came to Nashville to start school at Belmont in 2006 but spent most of his time playing the honkytonks on lower Broadway and across the Southeast. It wasn’t long before he hit the road playing guitar across the country for a wide range of artists, after which he realized he wanted to be a front man and redirect his focus toward his career as an artist.

The Hyde announcement comes on the heels of what has been a stellar year for Anthem’s publishing division. Recently the company signed a publishing deal with country songwriter Jamie Paulin, and expanded long-standing publishing deals with multi-award-winning producer Timbaland and his company Beatclub, and multi-platinum artist and songwriter Chris Janson. The past few months have also seen the charting of four Anthem songs in the top 30 on the Country Music Chart, including “Wild as Her” by Corey Kent, which recently reached #1, “Next Thing You Know,” by Jordan Davis, “How It Oughta Be” by rising star Shane Profitt which peaked at #16, and “You, Me, And Whiskey” by chart-topper Justin Moore. Other #1 placements in 2023 include The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s collaboration “Die For You,” which took the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and Jordan Davis’ "What My World Spins Around,” which hit #1 on Billboard’s US Country Airplay chart. Anthem also took home four ASCAP Pop Awards on May 18, honoring their achievement for most performed songs of 2022, a list that includes “Til You Can't” by Cody Johnson, “Buy Dirt” by Jordan Davis, “Chasing After You” by Ryan Hurd ft. Maren Morris, and “Die For You.”
