As frontman and mainstay with veteran English band the U.K. Subs, Charlie Harper’s place in punk history is secure. He’s a beloved figure, having influenced everyone from Rancid to Guns N’ Roses (who covered “Down on the Farm”). That said, it’s a proper treat to get his story in his own words. Appropriately, given the U.K. Subs’ output, the chapters are snappy, and there are many of them. “The memoir chronicles Harper’s work with the U.K. Subs, his solo recordings, and his many side projects, painting an intimate portrait of one of punk’s most enduring and beloved figures,” reads a statement.
