After a six-year hiatus, Justin Timberlake returns to the limelight with Everything I Thought It Was. His sixth studio album features his long-time producer, Timbaland, and his former bandmates from NSYNC. “Memphis” feels like a throwback to his heyday in the early 2000s, when the crooner would often use hip-hop style vocal melodies over R&B. Timberlake shows off his falsetto in “Technicolor,” a love song with classic adlibs by Timbaland. Meanwhile, “Sanctified” feels like the standout track from the LP.
