Grammy-nominated artist and disability culture leader Lachi told us about her Coldplay experience...
Lachi: Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to experience Coldplay in Las Vegas, backstage as part of their VIP Touch Tour.
As a Recording Academy National Trustee, founder and CEO of RAMPD (Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities), and a blind person who's spent years pushing this industry toward greater accessibility, I know meaningful inclusion doesn't happen by accident. It happens because people choose to build it in.
That's why I highlight Coldplay and Chris Martin in my book, I Identify As Blind. They've shown what's possible when accessibility is treated as part of the creative experience, not just as an afterthought. Getting to witness that commitment first hand was a full-circle moment, reminding me exactly why this work matters and what our industry can look like when everyone is invited to belong.
Lachi's children's album Magnificent is out now.
