Rising DJ and producer BSEARL started going to NASS and studying music tech at college when he was 16, the start of his musical journey.
"At the time the teachers were tryna get me to make orchestral music and I was just making dance music so I ended up leaving my course and getting an apprenticeship but really putting my focus into music," he says. "I probably began properly producing at 18 and it’s basically been my biggest focus since then."
The artist describes his sound as, "warm, retro, lo-fi, analogue kinda dance music." That can be heard on his album, NO MORE PAIN.
"Really happy with how it’s gone down to be fair," he says. "I feel like people are enjoying it. It was such a big project for me to put out & feel like I put a lot of my heart and soul into."
As for gear: "I swear by Audio Technica MX50 headphones. Absolutely swear by them for mixing down - non negotiable. I also use Prophet-6 synth and that’s been super helpful for designing some of the sounds that I’ve made."
Looking ahead, BSEARL has plenty planned for 2026. "I’ve got some really exciting singles coming out with Nerve, a collab with King Boo! & RAHH, a sick collab with Charlie Shell and a couple of edits I want to put out," he says. "Been having loads of fun touring, been playing on lineups with D Double E, Hamdi, Jaz Imsky and loads of other sick talent so feel like I’ve really found a little space in the scene. I feel like my sound's a bit unique so it’s been hard to find that niche but now people are coming to see me from Cardiff to Leeds to Nottingham and all over so really chuffed with how that’s going. And of course GemFest coming up is the big one now everyone’s looking to."
