BMI and Twitch Launch Music Creator Program 'The Collective'

BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) has partnered with Twitch on their incubator program for music creators, The Collective. Initially launched in November of last year, The Collective invites a selected group of songwriters and artists to join the program’s curated co-ops, teaching them the livestream playbook alongside their peers and helping them grow their fanbase while receiving ongoing support from the service.

“BMI is excited to be partnering with Twitch to give our songwriters across all genres a place to showcase their music,” said Alex Flores, BMI’s SVP, Creative. “BMI has an incredible track record as a source for new music discovery, and The Collective aligns with our commitment to helping our songwriters grow throughout their careers while connecting with their fans, whether on our festival stages and showcases or through partnerships like this one with Twitch.”

BMI will work with Twitch’s music team to curate co-ops of music creators based on complementary backgrounds, genres and career stages as part of this initiative. Once chosen by Twitch to participate in The Collective, artists will learn from the Twitch Music team, successful musicians on Twitch, and their peers about how to level up, grow their channel and earn money directly from fans.
Upon completing the program, music creators will receive ongoing backing from Twitch and priority consideration for promotional opportunities and activations from program partners Rolling Stone and Amazon Music.  Other industry partners include Discord, Distrokid, TuneCore and United Masters.
