Watching Beyoncé and Jay-Z play at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA was a fascinating combination of a mature couple's refined vacation/holiday photo slideshow and a restless run through of selected hits; as a group and as solo artists. Jay-Z and Beyoncé both hold the audience in the palm of their hands as they display the fiber of their story as a couple on larger than life big screens that were set up as a backdrop on stage.
It's the Gangster and the Queen, married with children, drinking Lemonade at 4:44 in the afternoon, living out their best life. With a crowd that was overly enthusiastic from beginning to end, The Carters gave couples a blueprint of how ladies can be a yin to her man's yang.
Pyrotechnics, flashing lights, and their swagger through the roof, Jay-Z and Beyoncé lit up the stage and kept it lit until their final song "Apesh*t" which got the entire crowd going bananas, no pun intended.
